TLC or Transport Logistics Consultants pioneered cross border monitoring in Africa and was the first company to be assigned to the Sub-Saharan African Transport Policy Programme (SSATP) for monitoring of the Border Posts in Africa starting at Beitbridge and Chirundu way back in 2005 - 2007. Since then TLC has monitored +/- 30 Border Posts, numerous Sea and Inland Ports, Air Cargo Terminals, Rail Cargo Terminals, ICD Hubs and Container Terminals in Southern and East Africa, many of them several times over. In total TLC has conducted over 200 surveys in the region ranging from extended “Choke Monitoring” projects 6-12 months to 3-7 day OD (Origin & Destination) Surveys, Time Release Studies, Time & Traffic Surveys, Arrival Time Surveys, Traffic Counts, Roadside Interview Surveys and USS or User Satisfaction Surveys (Questionnaire based).
